Take Note of Fabric – No matter what room you’re placing an item in, you always, always want to take note of the fabric and how it will hold up to your lifestyle. Just because you’re willing to pay for that gorgeous silk settee that keeps appearing in your living room design ideas, doesn’t mean that your cat won’t use it as a giant, extra silky scratching post.
Perhaps one of the most difficult parts of interior design is finding the right furniture to suit any given space, whether it’s a bedroom design or a den design. Furniture pieces are the investments we make in our decorating ideas, because when you buy one piece, you typically use it for several years, if not at least a decade (and sometimes even longer,) before you replace it. That being said, there are a few tips and tricks that you can use to find the right pieces for every space in your home.

You are limited to imagining how a wall will look with respect to a paint chip or wallpaper sample in your hand, and you are limited to imagining what the floor may look like with a particular carpet style and you are limited to… well, you are simply limited to what you can attempt to imagine, while trying to get your client or family member to envision what does not yet exist.
Poor space planning is often a big mistake in design. People often tend to push every piece of furniture they own up against a wall. This creates a closed in feel and continues to make a small room feel even smaller. In your living room, try pulling your couch off the wall a couple of inches and putting a console table behind it. On that console table, or sofa table, throw some lamps and vases on top of it and you can instantly create a finished look in that section of the room. Also, try drawing out a floor plan and see how many different variations you can come up with before settling on your small rooms design and floor plan.
In addition, it may be worth the money you spend on a professional to do your modern living room interior design if you consider that their is a considerable amount of time and energy you can save in the process. To do the all the work of a modern interior design for your living room, there will certainly be a lot of work involved for you and you should consider whether the amount of time and effort is worth it if you do it yourself. If you lack the experience in doing this type of job, it could end up costing you more and you might be better of hiring an interior designer instead.
